Thread: Aloha from Duluth Minnesota

    Default Aloha from Duluth Minnesota

Aloha, I'm oldiebuff. I'm originally from Honolulu Hawai`i, I currently reside in Duluth Minnesota (dubbed the coldest city in the United States). I go to school at the University of Wisconsin-Superior (the opposite end of Lake Superior), I am a Junior majoring in Political Science and East Asian Studies. I am heavily interested in "old time" news stuff from the islands because I always thought it was super cool. My role models are Joe Moore, Tim Tindall, Tina Shelton, and Barbara Tanabe. The 1980's newscasts were the most memorable of mine. So if you see me asking about "old" stuff, it's not I'm arrogant, I'm just really into the whole nostalgia thing. Drop me a line, whatevers. Peace out!

Oh and I do plan to move back home someday.

I don't know much about the MSU in Mankato, I've only visited that school once, I hear there is a lot of minorities at that school.

Welcome aboard, if your a Junior in college I'm somewhat surprised you remember Tindall and Tanabe as it seems they have been gone for so many years. But as you might know I'm a old school tv news junkie so I am greatly into the past as well.

I know you! You live in Kapolei, used to be Alewa Heights right? If memory serves, this nickname is a true oldie to me. What's new man?

Yup, it's me... I still use my name from our IRC days. Infact others from our IRC channel are here too (I'll let you guess at who they are).

Other than moving from Alewa Heights to Kapolei...nothing new, just that many years older. :P

Yes, great job! Those were both right.

    I said:
Much aloha! How are you? I'm very good, thank you. My name is Alex, but my Hawaiian name is 'Alika. I'm from Maine. I'm learning the Hawaiian language. I love the language because it's beautiful.

If you're interested in learning some basic stuff, please e-mail me. I'll be glad to kokua (help).

Mahalo `Alika, my name is Bixby...there really isn't a hawaiian word for it. I am originally from Honolulu, but now reside in Duluth Minnesota(hopefully not for long). I've always wanted to visit Maine...actually Massachusetts, I hear about the awesome seafood and scenery. Maybe sometime after I'm "pau" with school I can take a tour of the magnificent Northeast territory. Be in touch! Aloha!
