  • What "well known people" post here?

I didn't want to bombard the HR/TG forums with two threads, so I'll post it here.

Which "well known people" post here?

I believe Howard Dicus does, as well as Erica Engle, and I remembered Diane Ako came here once.
How'd I get so white and nerdy?

Well, Ryan's had material published, and he's been a guest of multiple media interviewers.

"Auntie Maria" is here on occasion - and in the Hawaiian music world, she's very well-known, thanks to her wonderful mele.com resource.

Other folks from the Star-Bulletin have often been spotted, such as MadAzza (though I think Nancy has weaned herself from HT) and photog Dick.

Lavagal is a respected columnist, too.

Musician Pali contributes from time to time.

Then there's Tiny Tadani...but he's been too busy to visit us in a while, I guess.

I know of at least two news personalities and well known musical figure that frequent here, but they don't post.

      They just lurk.

paul ogata, comedian extraordinaire, posts here. he's at least approximately 9,645,712,883,750 times funnier than...some other local "comedians" who, in my opinion, aren't comedians at all but who do make fools of themselves.

Let's not forget Leo Lakio, the voice of Hawaiian radio on this side of the big big island.

                Columnist for Northwest Hawai‘i Times.

                Musician extraordinaire

Awesome MC for local Hawaiian concerts.

And a super nice kane to boot!!

Diane actually posted nine times, and with a great sense of humor too, considering that the topic was the size of her "girls" as she called them in one reply.

Is "busy" a synonym for "scared"?
I think his only gig these days is on AM radio. Lost his FM gig, and also lost his weekly piece in the Advertiser.
When last seen, he was standing in front of a mirror and practicing saying "Would you like fries with that order?".

There are many other "well known people" who post and/or lurk here, but most of us respect their privacy, Adrian. Don't expect us to "out" them, k?

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Re: What "well known people" post here?

Lynn is pretty danged well-known, too. Sheesh. That woman should run for mayor or something. Oh wait, we've been down that road before!

Quark used to have a weekly tech column in the Advertiser and is still interviewed in the local media once in a while. I've dropped Tutusue's name a few times with positive results and almost everyone I know who's involved in local community theater knows Helen. Or at least knows of Helen.

I've also dropped Glossyp's name a few times with some foodie friends, and they knew exactly who I was talking about.

"Well-known" is such a difficult thing to define nowadays. What exactly did you mean?

Thank you both - these are folks definitely worthy of inclusion on such a list.

Dan Cooke used to post here a few years back too...

Tiny Tadani's posts were interesting as well as his differences of opinion with HT members...

I agree though there are so many that lurk it isnt funny look at some of the threads that have 5,000 views and a few hundred posts, that indicates frequent lurks in my book!

I'm a journalist! I interview the legendary and well-known, that doesn't make me one of them.
