Ah, the possibilities for another compilation "theme" CD. Along with my HILO KINE WEATHER (rain songs), COMMERCIALIZATION (songs in TV commercials), EH ... NO MATCH (songs titles are not in the lyrics), WET DREAMS (surf music), etc.

Very cool. I'll have to let you know which ones I choose. Probably the more mellower ones. Though I'm definitely pulling out the Space Oddity and Ziggy Stardust. Used to love Bowie back when he was freaky - lost interest when he put on a suit and tie.......

Sorry if someone already mentioned this one, but it's like the coolest song ever about a planet!

If you're willing to go classical - you can't beat Holst's The Planets. If you don't want to do all 4 movements, at least check out the 1st movement - Mars, the Bringer of War - I'm sure you'll recognize it from dozens of movie soundtracks although that might be a bit intense for a party. The Jupiter movement is just as recognizable and less intense.
"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."
                      Socrates.
