Did a search, nothing popped up so I am hoping that this is nothing discussed before. If it is, please feel free to merge/move this to where it needs to be ADMIN/MODS.

Anywho, anyone on here on www.yelp.com?

I have used it for a bit and really like it. I just finally registered and what have you and have enjoyed my chance to be a "critic".

Basically, you can be the critic for ANYTHING. Write your rants and raves, discover and be discovered. It has been a great tool for me as I am still only 3 weeks on Oahu. I have found great places for curry or where to get business cards made, massages and flowers for the AF to where to get a good deal on uniforms.

Seems like a pretty cool site, as well as here and wanted to share.

What's your profile name on Yelp? I'm here. If you click on my friends list you'll find Christa and Ryan, too.

        Re: Yelp

Bumping this old thread to note that those of you who use Yelp on an iPhone 3GS just got a hidden "augmented reality" feature. By activating it, you can then hold up your iPhone and see the street ahead of you on screen... overlaid with markers and information on nearby businesses. It's straight out of science fiction, arguably the "next big thing" in mobile technology, and simply quite cool.

It's a bit rough and shaky, but it's a heck of a start. I think it'll work better in a dense urban area (and at ground level).

You can find me on Yelp here.

So far I've contributed 4 reviews (including 2 "firsts"), and over 141 photos; all of which for restaurants.

I've even got 1 fan. Yay! lol

                Re: Yelp

Well, make that two fans! I'm here, though only post reviews once in a blue moon.

Yelp is pretty much the largest user-generated business review site out there, but ever since there were stories about how they may or may not shake down businesses who want to save their reputations, I've been more skeptical of their ratings' credibility.

I'm Kimo U. on yelp. I've used it to vent at least a couple of time. It's a fun diversion. Never tried uploading any pitchas.
