Chili rice bowl at the Honolulu Zoo. Decent for what's probably coming out of a can. A bit pricey, but there's free WiFi.

Chicken soup.
One boiling fowl, stuffed with sausagemeat and put into a pot with water, and simmered with onions, garlic, leeks, carrots, celery, cloves, peppercorns, thyme, bayleaf, parsley, ginger, alspice, and a piece of chorizo.
After the chicken is tender and falling from the bones, we eat it first as soup...today it's plain, but sometimes I add noodles or wheatberries or ptatoes. Tomorrow I might make chicken pie with the leftover meat, or maybe chicken and dumplings.

Re: What's for Lunch - Chapter 12
I came downsairs to find two foil-wrapped packages on the kitchen table...one with slices of bread and paté, and one with slices of bread and foie gras. So I made a pig of myself with the extremely delicious windfall, thinking that Keoni had brought leftovers home from the party he'd been to last night.
Then the kids came in and said that they'd found the package hanging onto the front door, AND that the cat had already gotten into it and caused some damage.
Dunno. It tasted okay to me.

I ate the rest of the mystery bread, paté, and fois gras. The kids wouldn't touch it.
I figgah it never killed me yesterday, so it won't kill me today.

Auntie Lynn and I were suffering hangovers today from last night. LOL... So to make ourselves feel better we went to Bac Nam and had Pho and Crispy Fried Lemon Grass Fish for a most satisfying lunch.

This is the before and after of the fish dish. LOL!

Re: What's for Lunch - Chapter 12

It was my first time at Bac Nam! I always go to the Noodle place in the corner for Chicken Donburi across MHS...das another story. Yummy!
Anyways. Bac Nam was a treat today. They have a wide selection of Vietnamese foods. The Pho was a bit on the oily side. However, it tasted good. The fried fish, delicious.
Our male server was a bit on the stressful side.heheheh In fact, the owner wasn't smiling either. Well, only when she presented the check to Beau.
I no kid you.
The restaurant is clean and I shall return again with my friend Beau.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Re: What's for Lunch - Chapter 12
The wintertime foodbank has begun, and I get to do the café that welcomes clients. I make cakes and cookies and sandwiches and stuff, and then enybody that comes can have a coffee and something to eat while waiting for their turn for the distribution. It's really nice because all of us poor people don't feel so downtrodden and inhuman if we can sit and chat and discuss things with others.
I'll be having the leftovers for lunch.
