lol Reminds me of those Chinese imported products packed in generic boxes, which include instructions written in "Chinglish", like this...

"Step 1: Insert A screw drive with hands. Step 2: After driving insert, screw the shelf onto cabinet. Step 3: After screwing, put tab A into the top of point B". What the? lol

Here's a picture of my grandmother (mom's mom), taken back in the late 70's at our house in Kaneohe...

She's half English, half Hawaiian, and could speak fluent Hawaiian. She was a loving, generous and classy lady, and very self conscious about always looking her best, although she sure did have a knack for sweets and rich foods. lol

Just wanted to say that I found him along the coast of Makapuu and left in place. I work at the Bishop Museum and could've gotten all kinds of kudos for bringing "Pohaku's Aikane" in, but chose to leave him in place instead! It just felt like the right thing to do.

Those sunset photos are definitely stunning!

I googled tako and ika and it sounds like tako is dried octopus and iko is dried shredded squid. Is that right?

                      Confession time:

Tried Primo beer. That was the nastiest stuff in a bottle. I'm calling it Chemo beer from now on.

...and now that this thread has increased by one more page, it's safe for me to open it at home again, without fear that the AF will be looking over my shoulder as the earlier arachnid photos come up. She would have FREAKED (and not in a good way).

Really? Shucks. I think it's pretty darned AWESOME!

It's similar to one of Kona Brew's blend, but I can't pinpoint which one. I think the Lilikoi Ale, although the new Primo is a lager. My only complaint about the new Primo is the price, which runs around the $10 range for a 6-pack.

Jim, yes, that's exactly what Tako and Ika is. In fact, Auntie and I had a little debate going not long ago on Squid vs. Octopus Luau. lol That was fun.

Dried Ika and Tako (origin: Japan) is very popular in the islands as a pupu (appetizer).

Glad you folks like the Sunset shot. That was quite an epic "Kodak" moment. The sky was on fire.

Here's some smoked squid rings from Tamura's...

OMG... these are like DA' BOMB!

                            And here's Ika...

I think one of the coolest things about Primo Beer is their logo. Check out the WAY COOL cap on the new bottles!...

I think that's what I'm gonna' do for this year's Halloween. I'm gonna' paint my face blue and black, and make a warrior hat and chest piece like the "Primo Beer Warrior" dude. Carry around a couple of faux Primo Beer 6-packs. He he.

First photo: We hiked to a short distance above where both valley ridges meet and start up the tallest point...

Second photo: Looking back out the valley from above...

We ate the red mountain apples. Awesome!

And some pretty flowers along the way.

Have to admit I'm pretty beat up and sore this mornin'
