    The last sunset of 2007.....

Kind of grainy since I shot this with my point and shoot Sony Cybershot P50, an 8 year old 2 megapixel camera. Tripod mounted. More of the last sunset here.

    Happy New Year.

Absolutely gorgeous shot, Mel. I took this "last sunset of 2007" photo from my daughter's condo for my dad's web page. It shows the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor and a corner of Magic Island. Today was so gray. I was pleased to get a semi-decent sunset.

Thumbs up Re: HT's Photo Sharing Thread - Chapter 3

I scratched this into a banyan tree (where I work presently),
though did it within the first week of meeting my wife back in Sept. '91.

I had asked her to marry me after only two days. Her answer...
"Yes, but not yet!" In less than 3 months we were married.

Boy, she sure took a chance, eh?!
    It worked though.

What an incredible cruise, here are a few I took on Maui, and of Kauai's Na'Pali coast.

    Thanks, man!

Here are 3 more from Na'Pali. Seriously, that is one of THE most incredible places I have EVER been/seen, just awe inspiring.

When oil slicks look that good... wow! Love the flag too. Sad but reverent place. God Bless America.

After seeing all the beautiful photos from Tatt and Mel and others, I'm almost embarassed to show shots from my little cheapie camera, but.

This was approaching part of the sandbar yesterday:

    [IMG][/IMG]

Getting closer. Note the folks sitting in chairs on the dry sand... in the middle of Kaneohe Bay (for those who haven't been there). Even the dog's paws are dry!:

    [IMG][/IMG]

Yep, it's a volleyball game. On the sandbar. In the middle of Kaneohe Bay. Surrounded by 50' of water on all sides! And note the waves breaking on the reef way in the back:

January in Hawai`i. You gotta love it!

Approaching Coconut Island on my way home. I'm in 46' of water, which carries right up to that light patch of coral covered by less than one foot of water. :

    [IMG][/IMG]

On the other side of Coconut Island. From 46' of water to just a few inches, in the blink of an eye:

Photos are on PhotoBucket at this link, or viewable as a slideshow at this link.

One of these days I've gotta get a good camera and a good selection of lenses.

Never be embarrassed - of all the shots posted, your's make me the most jealous (in a good way). Someone asked me what I want out of life and I showed them one of our pictures!

It's been snowing A LOT here in Heber City, UT. Not too many sunny days where you can get some nice, clean shots. Here are a few from when the sun came out one day...

And here are a few from the "Ice Tree." Our neighbors use a garden hose to freeze their tree every winter. Here's this winter's version:

Lika you made me miss home more than usual today. My trip back can't come soon enough.
I'm disgusted and repulsed, and I can't look away.

Thanks, to both of you. Although I feel kinda guilty for making you both feel homesick.

I took those photos at the peak of high tide, which wasn't very high at only +0.8'. Low tide was around 8:30am (I was still puttering around the house) and again at 5:45pm (I was back home to watch UFC80 on PPV).

Also, to Kalei 99 -- awesome photos of that white stuff, whatever it is.
And to Kanahina -- cuuuute puppy! Makes me just want to pick the little guy up and give him a hug.

kanahina: What a cute cute cute puppy!

LikaNui: That looked like a beautiful and fun day

Mel and TATTRAT: Impressive, as always

Introducing some HT'ers to Indian food at Cafe Maharani...

Some of the food included: naan (of course!), saffron rice, tandoori chicken, palak paneer, raita, and eggplant pakora. YUUUMM!!! I'm getting hungry all over again...

since the thread was bumped, here are a few ones I have taken lately...

shot at a high ISO to get some film grain type quality. Nothing amazing, just stock photography.

    Fun in the sink, lol
