I am very excited that I'll be arriving in Hawaii right in time for this. I originally thought I'd have to drive up to Chicago to get my Chinese New Year fix, but Hawaii will be even better (and loads warmer!)

OMG!!!! It was spectacular! My girls gave the lucky money. There was this cute old man playing the drum, the fireworks, the Narcisuss, the cultural center, OMG!!!
I so recommend people go. I will upload my pics and post. What a night!

I went to the parade on Saturday. Bus was running slower than I thought so I only just made it downtown in time. It really was fantastic, I've never been to a Chinese New Year Celebration before. It rained off and on but not enough to make anyone leave. I fed lucky money and spent probably too much money on souvenirs afterwards. My camera decided to die right before the parade but I manage to get these images on my iPhone.
