The only restrictions you have are those you impose on yourself. Once a while ago (when I had a teenaged and normal body) I used to go hiking up to the summit of the Koolau's from Waialae Iki IV ridge. Taking a dare from a female friend of mine because I was so insecure about myself I hiked to the summit alone and stood at the edge of the Pali Cliffs balls naked to the world and was taken in as the tradewind blown clouds enveloped my body as it rushed up the vertical cliffs from Olomana below. What a rush that was! The wind was so intense I dared to lean forward over the edge of no return and let the wind hold me, blowing me back to firm land on my heals. Humility and courage is what I felt as I landed on my heals and those are the two things I reflect upon whenever I feel uncertainty creeping up within my soul to this date.

After that I realized the only restrictions placed upon me were the ones I imposed on myself. Sometimes you just gotta live outside your insecurities to see just how pitiful oneself can look to others, then and only then can change occur.

There's certainly truth to that, CW, but it didn't cost you any money (that I can think of) to hike the Koolaus and bare your balls to the wind. LL's dream, otoh, could easily take more than a few buckaroonies! That fact, alone, tends to put so many dreams on hold.

Re: Tell Us Something We Don't Know

When I was a little kid, I wanted to be a vampire when I grew up. Vampires lived in castles, seduced women, could fly, slept all day and partied all night.

When I was in elementary school, I threw a centipede on a classmate. It didn't bite him, but I got in a lot of trouble -- especially when I told the teacher I did it because I wanted to know if centipedes were poisonous.

When I was in middle school, I did my science report on human sexuality. It was highly scientific, clinical, morally-neutral and (I think) very well done -- but it was extremely graphic and contained explicit photographs from pornographic magazines (because that was the only source I could find). Not only did I get into a lot of trouble, I also got an F on my report (which I think was incredibly unfair).

When I was in high school, I wrote all my papers for one class in mirror-image (so you had to hold it up to a mirror to read it). The teacher threatened to give me an F if I didn't stop, simply because he didn't have a mirror handy when grading papers. I gave him a small mirror and kept doing it. He gave me an F, but I kept doing it. It eventually went up to the vice principal and I got my Fs revoked.

Neighbor had a college-aged relative living with them. He had a stash. We're not talking Hugh Hefener, either. We're talking Larry Flynt. Pretty shocking stuff for an 8th grader.

Still, the hardcore stuff even more accessible to kids nowadays. I can't even imagine how their brains cope.

They don't, the brains are just mush with all that high-tech gizmo's that's plugged into their heads.

When ringing the house people used to ask, "Where are you?", because it always sounded like we were speaking from deep in the rainforest, being nearly drowned out by the birdsong.

How cool would it be to have a few with the mini-corral and mini-stable and mini-barn to go with?

The have a miniature barn in the lower half of their property, they have goats too! They have a little cart that they can ride in and have the horses pull them around the streets. Often the horses will be on a long rope outside in their front yard lying in the grass or grazing, very very cute! My dogs don't know what to make of them! They have a cute little sign that is yellow like a regular street sign with a silhouette of minature horses and says "X-ing".

I was, at one time, a Master Gardener, haven't kept my required training up to snuff for a couple of years though but I like growing stuff.

If I win the lottery, I would either purchase or emulate this:

I love to scrapbook and was an Independent Consultant for Creative Memories http://creativememories.com/...
I want to get another dog (love beagles and always wanted one of those)... I wonder if a Beagle would get along well with my Jack Russell Terrier?

i love to make cards. haven't done scrapbooking yet. i just canceled my subscription to imp-usa (creative memories things) because they were billing me for items that weren't even shipped. when i got the shipment almost 4 weeks later (this happened every single time!), the invoice would say that i was past due. huh?! i also subscribed to memory makers magazine. i'm on my last issue. i really like the product, but they have a serious problem.

regarding the beagle. mine passed away at the good old age of 16. they do make great family pets but they HOWL a lot and have an insatiable appetite. that dog always got into the trash. she even jumped onto the dining table, then onto the counter and ate a whole rum cake (that's a no no) and several pieces of chocolate mac nut candy. the girl had 9 lives. she was run over by a jeep cherokee and was left with just bruised ribs. what a miracle. she also was a good bug catcher and could climb the mango tree out back yard. i had her cremated and had a shadow box made. i miss her dearly, but i do have 4 other dogs and 4 cats. the oldest dog is 17 going on 18.

what people don't know about me is that i used to own my own okazu-ya and previous to that 2 woody's hot dog stands at the pearl harbor commissary and navy exchange. glad those days are over.

Scriv, I don't know. I probably knew the answer a long time ago.

Due to my habit, I can't distinguish between the individual flavors anymore. Skittles to me taste like, well, skittles. Tropical Skittles taste like tropical skittles. Berry Skittles tast like berry skittles. Xtreme fruit tastes like Xtreme fruit. Sour tastes like sour.

                                It sucks to be me.
