What is it with so many of our military/supporters and members of 'the greatest generation' that they give every crappy decision or move by the military or our segments of stupid-American mentallity that they always approve of turning a blind eye to such depravity that they once fought against. The 'if it's our guys being filthy, then it's ok' attitude does not fly.

The term "greatest generation" referring to those who served in WWII is a gratuitous over-generalization coined by a self-congratulatory generation. Some were great, many were not....the same as any generation.

Unfortunately, even with their many faults to point at, they probably were the greatest this country has/will see. They were can-do people, even against insurmountable odds, whereas todays crop... now this country can't do anything but f-up at best. Many of my own generation went from fighting tyranny in the streets to partying with/being it. In less than 60 years we've watched everything turn completely upside down.
