I just watched the PBS program "American Experience." Heartbreaking, devastating account of a group of Inuits who were taken to New York in the late 19th century. They were taken to the Museum of Natural History in New York (one of my all-time favorite haunts as a kid) and treated as objects of study. Most of them died within a short time but one of the youngsters, a child of seven at the time, lasted long enough to record his experience.
Horrible, shameful, and worthy of more than a few tears. Such a painful sad and disgraceful moment in time, captured with much sensitivity by this program.
