    Re: Matzo

In recognition of Passover, my Jewish coworker brought us a most excellent pot of Matzo ball soup yesterday...

Witness the Matzo "cracker" along with it. It's this brand...

These "crackers" aren't salted, so they lack flavor, yet they have character due to the texture and browned edges, in a simple kind of way. Good match with the soup.

As for the soup, the Matzo Ball is made simply with Matzo meal, egg and oil, and served in a basic chicken broth. The ball itself is kinda' glutenous; sort of like a Pastele in texture...

They need to figure out how to can this stuff. I'd buy a case. I love it.

Oh that's what matzo is! I don't think I've ever seen any of this soup in person.

You can relate it to the Japanese version that we know as Ozoni.

          Re: Matzo

Well I did find the Yehuda matzo, even bought a box to send to my mom.
Did you know there is a matzo shortage? I've been reading that in the
papers this week. Boy that soup looks good! I'm jealous!
