  • Pinwheels for Prevention...of what?

Anybody know the story behind the Pinwheels for Prevention display on King Street? Prevention of what? Some sort of disease? Does it have to do with safety?

Here's a quick pic I snapped while driving home:

Top Google search results for "pinwheels" and "McKinley" reveal:

    Cuts could imperil kids
State officials worry that if lawmakers hold back funding, abuse could increase
Emma Ballaibe, 5, helped plant a pinwheel yesterday at McKinley High School as part of a child abuse awareness program called Pinwheels of Change, sponsored by Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii, the Parent Line and other agencies. The pinwheels represent the 5,000 phone calls placed to the Parent Line, which assists in the prevention of child abuse and offers support. Some fear prevention funds could be cut.

Haha, thanks. I have no idea about high schools around here. Shows you how observant I am!

Thanks for asking. I saw them while driving and wondered what was up with that. They all came down a few days ago.
