  • Chocolate Haupia Cake

I love Haupia and I love Chocolate.

It's been a while since I posted here (but I have a 4.0 semester GPA to show for it!) but now my birthday is just right around the corner, and with my party in less than a week, I have spied exactly the cake I want to make myself-- the king of all cakes in the heavenly kingdom of all things amazing and good.

    Ted's Chocolate Haupia Cake.
Now, all the recipes I can find for 'Chocolate Haupia Cake,' (like those from the electric company and star bulletin) involve baking a chocolate cake and putting haupia in it, which is clearly* not the cake in this photo!

So, do any of you know anything about Ted's cake style or how one might be made? Do you have any recipes that totally trump that? If you have to go to the bakery and eat a couple of these to analyze them (scientifically, of course!) you may blame me.

HOW CAN I MAKE THAT LOVELY THING?

    edit: maybe i'm wrong...?!

    Do not use plain cocoa."

    Haupia filling:
