  • Josh Groban @ The Emmy

But instead of doing his usual shtick, he did a medley of TV theme songs and music, including -- and I cannot believe my eyes and ears -- the Prince of Bel-Air rap.

My jaws dropped in a WTF fashion. But then I got into it.

It was brutal but it was also brilliant.

You're right. His performance was impressive, just seemed awkward because it was out of character...=)

Here's a link if anyone wants to watch it:

I tried to embed the video, but it didn't work, sorry...

Wow...kinda analogous to Charles Barkley walking onto the field at a Red Sox game and hitting the winning home run!

He missed Disco Lucy. Paul Shaffer sometimes plays its tune when David Letterman moves from the monologue to his seat.

          Hmmmm. Tangential Creativity!!

It sounds like someone who has been watching a lot of TV and singing those songs in his head for many years, then finally gets a chance to combine them on the stage!

Ed McMahon was a nice touch.

I knew "Suicide Is Painless" had lyrics, even though you never hear them during MASH's opening..... but I didn't know there were words to the Andy Griffith Show's theme. Did he just make them up or were those the actual words?

That Fresh Prince bit was funny. What just about killed it for me was when he did BAYWATCH.
              Tessie, "Nuf Ced" McGreevey shouted
We're not here to mess around
Boston, you know we love you madly
Hear the crowd roar to your sound
Don't blame us if we ever doubt you
You know we couldn't live without you
