Arizona official apologizes for Obama birth verification request
Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett has apologized for any embarrassment he caused his state when he revived a widely discredited conspiracy theory about President Barack Obama’s birthplace by requesting verification that the president was born in Hawaii.
Of course, the fun's not over yet...
Meanwhile, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio defended sending one of his deputies to Hawaii to accompany an official in his volunteer posse that is investigating Obama's birth certificate, despite earlier saying no taxpayer money was being spent on the probe. The sheriff said Tuesday that taxpayers won't ultimately foot the bill because the posse, which so far has used $40,000 in donations to pay for the probe, will reimburse his office for the deputy's trip to Hawaii. Arpaio said the deputy who was sent to Hawaii was there for security reasons, which the sheriff declined to discuss.

The nice thing is that those red necks cannot arrive on the Island and fire up the chain saws, throw it in the back of the truck and go back to the mainland.

In Arizona, public law-enforcement officials have policy set by private political groups?

I'd also like to know what the "security reason" is that a deputy was needed to strong-arm Hawaii officials.

Reports of a foreign midget submarine?

(I was just thinking of that because I saw that Nova episode last night, where you were interviewed...)

The Southwest has had its share of unique historical precedents.

Unicorn or not, the guy is gutlessly scared shitless of Trump being the slightest bit unhappy with him and unleashing brainless pursed lipped vitriol against the non-stop lying ass nominee for the party of voter suppression, ignorance, and hate. As Chris Mattews is saying, Trump is the Pied Piper and can lead this ass ring kissing spineless fool anywhere he wants, including right off the political cliff. Yesterday, Romney hung himself with T-Chump around his neck, while the President hung out with American cultural heros like John Glenn and Bob Dylan.

Obama shocked the sheraff. But, he did not shocked the deputy.

The birthers are serious business. Obama shouldn't make a joke about them. Would he joke about Clint Eastwood's chair?

Eastwood has been quoted as saying he believes Obama to be the biggest hoax in the history of politics. Kind of a monument to how people can see things differently. I see Obama as having delivered on the goods, even if he hasn't accomplished all that he wanted, he has made a sincere try, the good old geevum spirit where you do not hold back an ounce of your best effort. Contrast to Mr. Bush; the clothes had no emperor. How anyone could value empty words over real accomplishments is beyond me. And why. But consider the source.
