W00T! BJ Namba just delivered over 100 Slippahs dat her 3rd graders bought and collected for the Slippah Project!

She gave me their picture holding the slippahs. Unfortunately, my scanner is broken. I told her to email me the pic so I can share it with you. The story of them collecting and getting involved is a story in itself.

They watched a play of two children and a pair of slippers being shared which took place in Afganistan/Pakistan. BJ Namba, their teacher told them about the Slippah Project and they got excited. They wanted to help the children here in their own aina.

    Mahalo, Mahalo Everyone!

To our Final Chip In Donors,
12/7/08 - Landon Castellano, Wahiawa, HI
12/7/08 - Michael Segal, Andover, MA

When I came home this afternoon from work, I was so tired. The phone rang. It was a woman. Calm voice, like one Angel. I taught I dreaming. She told me her company wanted to donate slippers to the Slippah Project. I told her thank you and proceeded to tell her about the history.

Den...after my story she told me the amount they were giving.

    2 PALLETS!!!

    Das a lot of SLIPPAHS!

The President doesn't want no one to know it's coming from his company. They're just doing their share of giving to the Keiki!

I'll be in touch with my D.J. Friend, Darrin Carlson from Hilo.

    Love and ALOHA,

    LOVING stories li'dat!

No governmental mucking about; this project started with Lynn & Blaine saying "let's just do this, make it happen." Look how it grows.

Aloha Spirit in the flesh; not a glorified, polish-it-for-the-tourists, make-sure-I-get-credit-and-a-photo-op version, but the real thing.

I hope I learn the lessons being given here.

Sadly, our beautiful burgandy tent collasped this morning. PK said it's ok, we'll buy onnada one when we can. The good news is the tarp is covering the boxes.

Last night, Deedee of Child and Family Service, Healthy Start Waianae came to pick up Slippahs for her Agency and for the Ewa Beach Agency too. Total 140. Their story is a funny one.

The worker from Ewa Beach emailed me.
"Hi Lynn got this from Linda, Yes I work for child and family service and go and visit children that need slippas. Sooooooooooooooooooo how do I get the slippas to my kids I service. Mahalo."

I cracked up laughing as it touched my heart. So juss like me. And I assumed "Linda" was Tita Lika!

Their Christmas Party is tomorrow night.

On Facebook, I started a Slippah Foundation Cause. It has grown to fifty members. http://apps.facebook.com/causes/view...307&m=2bb70939

The only entertainer who supported The Slippah Project is Mr. Rolando Sanchez. He wanted to perform for a Fundraiser. I told him next year.

And from HT, LikaNui and TurtleGirl ~ Mahalo!!
