My wife and I had a couple of drinks at Outback Steakhouse. I'm pleased about the outcome but my wife is ecstatic!
Sadly her brother, believing all the falsehoods about Obama, sees Obama's victory as the start of America's downfall. I'm trying to get him to see it as a positive thing.

Originally posted by SusieMisajon View PostAs I recall, there used to be really great street parties downtown, when the streets were closed off and many people came to whatever celebration was going on.
St. Patrick's Day...
First Friday...
ho`olauleas...
...but not to the tune of almost a quarter of a million people. That I'm aware of, that is!

Actually, you'd never know there had been an election, except the quiet smiles and talk's of relief and happiness that our butt's may finally be out of the fire, but still not safe.
A lot of cautious/hopeful 'wait and see'-ism.
But, it's clear that most non-whites are very happy with Obama being elected.

Our last voter in the precinct I was working was thrilled, thrilled, thrilled to be voting for her choice for president. (I can guess who it was!) Even though we have to hold on to the last voter so they can sign off on the poll closure, she was even happy about that.
On the other hand, there was a lady who was furious she couldn't vote on California's Proposition #8. She insisted that it was a nation-wide referendum and began screaming at us because it wasn't on Hawaii's ballots. Sigh.
