Actually, yes, now that you mention it. This morning, the Associated Press (AP) released a comprehensive list of who has been appointed to Obama’s cabinet so far, and likely appointees for the remaining positions.

Thanks, TuNnL - it's good to get an update of the players to date. I still question the choice of Sen. Clinton, as I feel:
          (1) she brings too much baggage from her husband's administration; this is not a sexist "blame the wife for the husband's deeds" statement, but is based on her own announcements during the recent campaign, and
          (2) this is not an appointment made based upon what she brings to the role, but more as an appeasement to her supporters, in the same vein as Sen. McCain's choice of Gov. Palin.

These days, those of us who are pleased to see Mr. Obama as our President-Elect need to change our mantra from "Yes We Can" to "Yes You'd Better." The Obama administration will have plenty of watchdogs on the conservative side - they'll need watchdogs on the liberal side as well. This is the best chance we've had for positive change in far too long; Clinton screwed it up, Obama had better not take the same paths.

As I said previously (to matapule’s chagrin), New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson would have been a far more qualified and responsible choice for Secretary of State. Any bilingual former U.N. ambassador and presidential cabinet member who twice successfully negotiated the release of American hostages trumps a freshman U.S. senator and former first lady who’s Whitewater and White House dealings are still suspect.

Be that as it may, the President has named a number of new appointees to his cabinet within the past 48 hours.

Hillary was way better a choice for the position than Richardson, who is too wimpy for it, whereas HRC will be tuff on the matters when need be, have more push/pull than BR/most others, and is more resourceful.

Overall, the Obama cabinet is shaping very well, and will be a complete 180 from the partisan/crony filled and very ineffective/damaging Bushies.

I don't know if Hillary was a "way better" pick than Richardson (or John Kerry for that matter) as far as qualification goes. But certainly, selecting her was a shrewd political move for Obama. It removes a potential rival from the Senate and brings the Clinton supporters into his camp, which could come in handy as the new President will likely have his popularity tested as he weathers this economic storm.

And for all you Hillary haters out there, look on the bright side: History hasn't shown the State Department as being a stepping stone to the Presidency in recent times. As a matter of fact, the last Secretary of State to be elected President was James Buchanan, more than 150 years ago.

Yep, conservative talk radio is all geared up for this one. As the promo on KHVH goes, there will be a lot to talk about on conservative talk radio with the Obama administration in place. 4 years at least of upcoming topics related to President Obama (soon).

I'm looking forward to the Neighborhood Ball, to be held in DC, at the Washington Convention Center. Tickets will be free, or affordable, and some limited to DC residents only.

Wish I could go. Should be a riot.

Leon Panetta - Director of the CIA

It was announced today that Leon Panetta will be selected by Obama as CIA Chief. Some have questioned Panetta's lack of experience in intelligence.

Leon Panetta was the Congressman for 16 years of my district where I lived at the time. He went on to become Clinton's Chief of Staff. He resigned prior to the Lewinsky scandal.

I am very familiar with Panetta's work ethic and his character. I worked with his cousin for a while. Leon is a Mexican American and his family home is in Monterey, CA. Leon is a very decent man and is a hard worker. The local rumor was that Leon resigned from Clinton's administration because he was an insider and did not approve of some of Clinton's sexual escapades that he was aware of.

I do not dispute that Leon is short on experience in the spy community. But I also believe that will learn quickly and perform an admirable job and will be uncorruptable. He will bring integrity to the office. I believe that he will not manufacture false CIA "information" to further US foreign policy.

I am very pleased with his appointment. This appointment is a gutsy move by Obama and one that will pay off. I feel safer and more secure from terrorists now, knowing this man as I do.

                          Buena Suerte, Leon.

I hope he learns quickly. As for work ethics, it's all about loyalty when it comes to the spying game. I don't care what you do and I don't have to know what you do, so long you are loyal to America and serve America's interests, is fine by me.

Not only are you being presumptuous, Tim, so is the author of your link. Ultimately it begs the question: how long does it take to build a Presidential limo? From the press release found at your link:
“The car was designed, developed and tested by specialists who adhered to an extensive set of specifications.”
Wouldn’t it have been a bit presumptuous for Obama to give Cadillac his “automotive requirements” before he was actually elected President?
