    Re: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Giving many thanks for all y'all on HT, and thanks to God for a blessed year. Missing Granny this Thanksgiving, (dh's mama died last Jan) and it will be just us, visiting with the rest of our ohanas on the computer and the phone. So small kine turkey dinner. That means more pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce for me, and plenty gravy!

God Bless you and your families; you are surely a blessing to me!

Next year I hope to have a chance to add a turkey to a community imu. They may even have one at Christmas!!

      Re: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I am very thankful for all the wonderful friends I've made in Hawaii. My plans with my family fell through at the very last minute (this afternoon) but a friend reached out to make sure I wouldn't be spending the day alone.

            Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

Only in Hawaii, where we can forego the ridiculous American trappings of Turkey and Cranberry Sauce and put Kalua Pork and Poi on the table.

To me, it's "Thankful I live in Hawaii and Nowhere Else" Day.

                  Re: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

WOW, it is a beautiful day here in L.A.--partly cloudy (we had some blessed rain yesterday), partly sunny, and cool. Perfect cooking weather! We will be eating soon. I am N-O-T doing anything on Black Friday but sitting back and enjoying leftovers!!!!!!!!! I do not like shopping on that day. Besides, I started early and am all but DONE with my shopping! I still have a few things to pick up for my DH, and we'll probably give our DS the ol' greenbacks, so I am free to really enjoy the season (and to really remember the REAL reason for the season).

Anyway, Happy Day to everyone! Enjoy and E-A-T!!!!!!!!!!!

A walk back home along the beach...
                      Beach time...
Coming up on DVD movies and wine time...
It just doesn't get much better than that!

                        Re: Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

No turkey roasting here today. Italian Keilbasa for the girls and me while my husband is at work. Such is life. The gang will descend upon us on Saturday. My 20-pound turkey thaws in the fridge. I should be doing a better job of getting this place ready!

Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday today! 24HF doesn't open until 6 a.m. tomorrow! I'm going to be the first one in line!

Opu is FULL. Plenty of kaukau in icebox to eat for days and nights. It was great to see Ohana and do what we always do. We talked to our Ohana in Georgia. They traveled from Florida, Virgina and other states to celebrate at my brother Frank's hale. Today they eat traditional turkey. Tomorrow, they're having a Lu'au!

Here's some of the kaukau we had:
