    Re: John Lennon's Happy Christmas

Another year, and this year ends with the happy news that our troops have left Iraq. We welcome them all home! Merry Christmas!

I much prefer Scarborough Fair/Canticle when pondering the 'end of war' motif. The message is less direct, but much more deeply nuanced.
May I always be found beneath your contempt.

One of the experiences I will not soon forget was seeing John Lennon playing
in front of the city hall of Toronto.
The Bohemian area of Toronto was a small community called Yorkville.
Not to far away was Rochdale college, packed with bikers, maoists and fragments of the Millbrook commuity.

Happy Christmas again everyone in 2012! (That's the currently working link.) I hope 2012 leaves you with peace in your hearts, and 2013 is ushered in with hopefulness. Blessings to our troops in all parts of the world, and especially Afghanistan.

Perhaps our gods are flawed because we don't know how to perceive them.
I found the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas to be quite helpful in that vein, and it certainly helped me in my goals for improvement. Still working....

I can understand why Emperor Constantine's lackeys banned it from the New Testament....

Happy Christmas! Peace to all: to our troops afar, as well as to everyone in the unrestful mainland this year.

Another alternative, Leo, is that neither God (god) nor we are flawed in the least, that the Universe is unfolding exactly as it should and as intended, but we don't understand It.

Oh gee, I forgot I said almost the same thing 2 Christmases ago. Points for consistency - demerits for poor memory.

Happy Christmas as we leave 2016, and hopes for a peaceful 2017 across the world. (Yes, we can hope.)

Recorded at the end of 1971, in time for Christmas of that year, let's revisit John & Yoko's wish for us to have a Happy Christmas with peace for all.
Can you believe it has already been 46 years since its recording?

Happy Christmas to all as we end 2017. Let's keep peaceful wishes in our minds as we enter 2018.
