Maybe some finely chopped 'Wacky Backy' cooked into it would start the giggles ?

Oh, Barry.... that's just for Alice B. Toklas Brownies! Still have my recipes from early Hippie days....

You are correct, Susie! Needing sun and sand for a perfect day. I live down the road apiece from Surf City USA... yes, Huntington Beach trademarked that name, but the Cailfornia sun is COLD today.... Brrrr, 60 degrees. A few Mai Tais could help warm me up. As the song says, it's 5 o'clock somewhere.

Anyone know a good price per pound on plain macadamia nuts, w/o chocolate coating? They're $6.67 a pound at Costco today. Too cold and lazy to crack open a pound myself. I need to keep my happy cake science project going.

That sounds awesome! I can't wait to try it. The only good receipe I have to trade is for Doubletree Hotel cookies and I'm sure everyone has seen it on the Internet now....

Can't think of anything creative this time

SG, I haven't seen them.... I'll google them, as I am now intrigued. Love cookies. Can you PM me the recipe? thanks!

My next venture is going to be replicating a taro sponge cake I had for breakfast... yes, breakfast. It was a lovely poi purple color. A not-too-sweet creamy filling inside. I wonder if I need poi or if cooked taro will do? I'll report any findings here, after I research it, and if anyone else is interested. We have a wonderful chain of Chinese supermarkets here in California called 99 Ranch Market... that's where my child bought us this delicious purple delight.

And if anyone has any other ideas about the taro sponge cake, or good island style yummies, I'm all about the dessert... just ask my butt!

I keep forgetting to make this! Hope someone bought and ate Hawaiian Happy Cake at the Festival!

Snowbird- did I ever send you the Doubletree Cookie recipe? I can't remember, and if I didn't, I am SO sorry and will do so immediately.

No, SG... just PM me when you get a chance.... too freekin' hot to bake right now, and the Happy cake stuff is sitting next to the stove, just daring my evil ants to get on it!

During my morning run this morning, I saw a Hawaiian Happy Cake Cafe sign over a store next to Likelike Drive Inn. It's in the same building complex, shares the same parking lot. I'm not sure if it's open yet, but it's mentioned in their website that they are planning to open in mid-November, so that's just about now.

    **bump**

The Happy Cake restaurant is now open. It's serving the same cakes as were sold at Kemoo Farms, with the same baker. Im not a good judge because I don't care for the cakes but I've heard from others that they are very good!
