I suspect Jesus may not have voted for Bush but would have been happy to tip a few with him. Me too.

Many do. Are you the one who sits in judgment of them all? "Judge not, least you be judged."

Yeah - Jesus was certainly no fan of social justice, renunciation of power, humility, forgiveness, and private observation of prayer (as opposed to publicly mandated prayer), nor was he noted for advocating for the poor and outcast over the wealthy, powerful, and religious.

Dear Christian Bobinator, please recall these words from the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 6, Verse 5: "And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward." Or perhaps this translation puts it clearer: "When you pray, don't be like hypocrites. They like to stand in synagogues and on street corners to pray so that everyone can see them. I can guarantee this truth: That will be their only reward."

Are you telling us here that "well-liked" means "smarter?" During the campaigns that brought us President Bush II, he was "well-liked," too. Look where that has brought us.

Could you give George W. credit for having no casualties on the plane crash in the Hudson River today because it happened under his watch?

Actually, Christians and Muslims are both right: All those virgins come from Evangelical girls with chastity vows, after the Rapture.

Bush is the poster boy for why separation of church and state was a real good idea and why it should have been followed and why when we try to clean up the disaster the little idiot is leaving behind we should use the RICO anti racketeering statute to sieze all assets of all the churches that broke the tax laws to campaign for Bush, with full back taxes and penalties and interest. Put em out of business, they were only in it for the money anyway.

"...Having endured eight long years of misguided leadership on the part of the Bush Administration, it is with great regret and well-bridled enthusiasm that we orchestrate PEACEFUL CIVIL DISRESPECT, in the form of raised middle fingers, on a worldwide massive scale as common citizen George W. Bush ascends by helicopter from the White House on his return to private life following the inauguration of a new American leader...."

Lincoln's Republican party and W's Republican party ain't the same animal, unfortunately.

FDR's Democrate party and Obama's Democrat party ain't the same animal, unfortunately.

The Democrat party has moved to a more centrist position and the Republican party has moved to a more fascist position than days of yore, unfortunately.

Interesting. Bush ranking #36 among 42 presidents. Usually when presidents leave office, feelings of dislike are still fresh and shortcomings are magnified. It will be fascinating to see where Dubya's ranking goes as time passes on and historians have a better grasp on his legacy.

Clinton's stock really jumped, from #21 to #15. WJC's standing has probably improved as people have gained a greater appreciation for the economic prosperity and budget surpluses that occurred on his watch, in contrast to the economic meltdown and record deficits that his successor brought to the table. And also,.... people generally don't care as much about the Monica Lewsinsky/Whitewater scandals.

If it was up to me, I wouldn't even bother ranking William Henry Harrison and James Garfield. Both of them were in office far too short to make any kind of a definitive judgement.

Another observation: Fillmore, Pierce, Johnson, and Buchanan all in the bottom 6. Appears that the folks voting in this poll are really punishing the Presidents who were either seen as indifferent or exercising weak leadership when it came to the issue of slavery/reconstruction. Not surprising, seeing as how Obama's historic campaign brought the topic of race relations in this country back to the forefront.
