Combined with a super high tide at about 5 am tomorrow. Should be exciting.

Super high? Only a 2.0, and at 6:25am (Honolulu Harbor). We had a 2.7 Saturday and Sunday, 2.5 Monday and 2.3 yesterday.
And for Jim, are you going to take photos? Please? Of course, the traffic on the north shore will be exceptionally miserable, but. And hey, maybe The Eddie will be a go!
Also, don't forget the wind warnings for Wednesday night through Friday. Kona winds, gusting to 60mph. Here on the windward side we get even more because of the downslope effect.
The next few days will be intersting.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I gotta work today, but I may be able to get up there after work and take a few shots. Is there any way to know which beaches will have the biggest surf? For example, will Waimea have bigger surf than Sunset? Or is it unknowable until it's happening?

                    Try this:

                    NOAA Surf Report

It has a map with the directions mapped out in degrees so you can try and figure out where the biggest surf will be by using the info in the charts.

If I'm reading the info and map right, it looks like Waimea is the place to be for pics of big waves.

There's a bouy map at the bottom of the page here:

                      http://www.surfline.com/surfline/for...cast_index.cfm

The swell tracker tab shows the swell heights in various colors with purple being the 30+ft. range.

No big waves yet on my end (Waialua)....Maybe 5-6, occasional 8. And the debris is still where it was yesterday; not washed off the beach.

I took a few pics of the low waves this morning, to compare later today.

Yep, this is nice place, Susie. I love your stories and recipes from France, too.

                              Wanna trade places?

Actually, I'm pretty much stuck here. But next time you pass the sugarmill or the old Bank of Hawaii building or the old Filipino cemetary at Thompson Corner or visit the goats at Santiago's at the back of Ranchcamp or
pass the highschool or go along Crozier Drive or pass the old wooden houses with the corrugated iron roofs behind the mill or go past Sugara store...give em a little wave for me, will ya please?
