Just a little while ago I heard this:
http://www.indianringneck.com/sounds/squawk.mp3
Unusual since all I ever hear are tedious chickens crowing and yelping.
Well I do also hear shama bird and kolea in late afternoon. But this sound
really caught my ear even through a closed window. I looked out and there
was this really large Indian Ring Necked Parrot an AMAZING & GORGEOUS
creature sitting on my side lawn eating guava! It was so beautiful! I went
to get my camera and got a fuzzy photo of it through the rain, I started to
take another and a TEDIOUS rooster came out of the bushes and scared it
away. I didn't see where it went but am thinking maybe it will come back
as the guava are plentiful on the ground and in the trees as well as avocado.
I was wondering if it were someone's pet that is lost? I read up on them and
they are wild, we have some other wild parrots in the neighborhood as well
that live in the trees across the street. Anyway it was an amazing thing to see this afternoon!
