I saw part of 'A Thousand Ways to Die' on cable. Outrageous stuff, altho I think they exaggerate a bit, just to make it more interesting. Has anyone seen this show?
Edited to add: Maybe I should have started a new thread in the 'tube' folder...

    My turn.

Been busy working. Security is not as simple as it was before. Anyways, I'm not writing bout dat. I would like to share my daily delimma of hearing grinding, pounding and everything that goes on at a Construction site. For several weeks, my hale is smack in the middle of it all. No ear plugs can help. My hale shakes. Dust and debris? Plenny. I haven't had a good rest before I go to work. I've asked my landlord if I could break my lease. If I don't stay till October 2009, I lose my deposit.

    I miss MWH.

if you can sleep on your back - try using headphones and some sound effects "music". I have some cd's of water sounds, jungle sounds & steel drums that play for about an hour each. right now, I also use a "white noise" machine that sits between the head of my bed & my window. it pretty much blocks out the sound from outside. either one of those methods might help you. my street is pretty noisy, we have a dog that barks a lot and there is a lot of noise from my landlords also. the noise machine really helps a lot. you can probably find one at best buy.

    Dear Anapuni808!

We rented this hale cause it was in a quiet lane and near to everything. We pay close to $2,000 a month for it. I work at nights. Tonight, I work the grave yard shift. I can't sleep. I suffer from Migraines and you know wat.

We have a nest that a bird built on top of one of our outdoor speakers (it's mounted onto the wall). The mama bird is such a good mom. She built a great nest. The eggs hatched a few days ago and those birds are the sweetest things ever. All I can see are these little necks stretching up and open beaks begging for food. Sometimes Mama will fly away if she gets spooked, but now that they're hatched, she's more comfortable with us and stays.

The speakers are right next to our back door, so whenever I take our dogs outside, I kind of peek into the nest from a safe distance. When I looked today, I didn't see her. The little babies were begging for food. I checked out the near-by trees that she'll sometimes flee to, but no Mama. It was really bothering me, so I kept checking and no Mama. Finally, the last time I took the dogs out for the night, I saw her snuggled down over the little ones and was so relieved. I don't know why I was so upset about it, but I'm glad she made it back!

Can't think of anything creative this time

Today I made good sale. We've been hit by the tight budgets of customers, so it was nice to make a sizeable sale. It made me reflect on those who are without a job at all.
Now run along and play, but don’t get into trouble.

First sign of trouble to come is male nurse for prep. Hey, way minute, where pretty young female nurse, like at front desk? Then doctor come in, with big smile on face, all dress in puke green. Doctor holding scope about 2 feet long. Matapule say, "dis one size fit all, heh, heh?" Doctor say, "dis going to be little uncomfortable."

I swear a speculum is based off this inquisition torture device:

I have a funny story about a speculum...

I was at my OB-GYN...the usual up on the table, feet in the stirrups thing...when he pulled open a drawer beside him and got out a speculum. I said to him, "You know, Doc, in the US these things are heated in a bucket of warm water in order to make them more comfortable". He smiled and laughed and said, "Suze, in France we do it like this", as he formed his lips onto an 'O' and huffed on the speculum to warm it.

Matapule - you were given a choice to have some anesthesia. We just have to stand there & be squished and if your'e a "well endowed" female, it just involves more squishing!

That's why I think TutuSue's invention would be a good thing so that women could share more of their experiences with men. After all, equality should work both ways yeah?

I saw that whilst looking for the other but didn't choose it 'cause usually that one is associated with biopsy...and I was hoping it wasn't serious like that.

I take it you've never had to have a catheter eh?

That procedure exists for women, too, altho' the scope doesn't need to travel as far.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there's a comparable xray for a man to a mammogram for a woman. Hence my decades long ambition to invent the penogram...2 metal plates that act as a vice clamp! As anapuni mentioned...more shared experiences with men and equality!

Ladies...xray tech, Debbie, at the Kapiolani Women's Center on Artesian and Beretania, is fabulous and fast.

My funny story is when I was in the Air Force I had to get the annual and my female military doctor calls into the other room for her new student physicians assistant to feel my "perfect uterus".

The PA comes in and immediately gets the deer in the headlights look.

It was the guy who was trying to date me from my therapy sessions with my back injury. He was doing his first OBGYN rotation and knew he couldn't back out...so he turns day glow red, does the exam looking at the ceiling the whole time while the Captain Dr. chattered away about feel this and feel that.

From then on if I saw him in the hospital he'd turn bright red and dodge into any room or hall he could till I went away.
