Jim75: Love the brown waves w/ white foam (post #73). Like your lava pics. I was on the Big Island recently w/ in-laws. We weren't able to get close enough to see the flow. Thanks for showing us what we missed. My mainland friend is planning a visit and she'll now know what to look forward to.

Asuhoru: Great expressin on your daughter's face At first I thought the bush behind her head was her hair!

Cyleet99: You found yourself a nice, high position to shoot from. Great view and pics of the festivities :_)

TATTRAT: Glad to see you back in the photography saddle again. I like the vividness of the leaf/droplets photo. I agree with Jim, the "spirograph" pics are great. Nice use of a slow shutter.

Mel: Ha, I was staring at Tanabe's a few nights ago, while looking for someone's apartment. Never eaten there.

Willow Chang belly danced at this month's Live on the Lawn event at HiSAM.

The rest of my pics can be seen here.

      Lovely... for all the photos!

Took this afternoon, while returning from Mom's in Kailua.
I call it "Olomana Crane". Notice the FOR RENT sign on it?

        A few from the weekend....

Being in Northern VA, never REALLY realized how much (mainland)History is seriously within walking distance of my house. Here are a few form a place I motor by every morning, but have never stopped at...Blenhiem House

The beautifully restored Blenheim estate opens just once a year, during the Blenheim Civil War Encampment, one of the most popular local events in Fairfax.
During the remainder of the year, the home is not open to the public but is a popular photo opportunity on historic walking tours.
The attic of the home is notable for the notes, drawings, and signatures carved into the walls by Union soldiers during the Civil War

        http://www.brettschulte.net/CWBlog/2...oric-blenheim/

though the attic was not open for viewing, there was a replica, and some very cool drawings(or old school graffiti). though I couldn't get any shots of that, this text describes on of the depictions carved into the walls, and I wonder how it would still translate into todays soldiers feelings

It looks like a down and inside shot of a glass of cola with ice.

                        TATT:
I saw a cartoon the other day that plagerized on your avatar. Eggs for eyes.

Too cool! I got good laugh.

I got pretty close, like 75 yards or so, when a 'ranger' came running up and advised me that the flows weren't mapped yet, and another step could break through the crust and burn my feet off to my hips....

He was likely being over cautious, but I thanked him, took a few pictures (nothing spectacular) and he 'escorted' me back to my car.

I posted a messed up small version of this before but I finally got this picture scanned properly, it's also my current twitter avatar.

This is my tutu as a young woman (1930's), my favorite Hawaiian. <3

I'm disgusted and repulsed, and I can't look away.
