Some of this is old news but there's no threads about it here so.... Verizon will be the first to roll out 4G in the US starting next year (2010). I'm very happy and surprised to read that they are choosing the LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology for their 4G networks. LTE is currently being rolled out in Scandinavia and is the main 4G technology chosen by GSM providers (90% global market share). That means that Verizon will join T-Mobile and AT&T in providing the "global standard" while Sprint will be the lone ranger. I wonder how long Sprint will last. I believe it's do it or die for them now and they are already loosing bunch of subscribers.....they really need WiMax to succeed..
Okay, I know some of you will say....WiMax by Sprint is already out and that is 4G. Actually, the technology might be considered 4G but they don't have the speed going for them......they might in the future though.
