Default "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on CBS

Every so often I tend to watch The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Tonight's show had him lip syncing the theme song from Fireball XL-5 to commerate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.

It's one of the best shows on television. I almost never miss it.

The wife and I think he's one of the funniest people on TV. We saw him live at the MGM Grand about a year ago. He's even funnier rated R.

Did he surprise the audience with amount of profanity in his act like the potty mouth Bob Saget?

Last night he introduced the Waving Crocodile puppet and then added it the list of puppet mascots that people can vote on.

the croc was pretty funny with it's southern drawl - especially coming from a Scotsman!

I remember seeing him perform back in the '80s as Bing Hitler.

No, it's nothing like that. Saget tries to be funny through shocking profanity, but it doesn't work to me. Ferguson is genuinely funny. His not obscene for obscenity's sake, he's only obscene when it makes it funnier.

Tonight he tried a puppet that looks like him. While the monolouge was kind of funny, I kind of preferred the waving crocodile.

Been noticing that Craig tends to ask his guest if they use Twitter since he has an account on the service as well.

At the end of each episode there is "What have we learned tonight" segment with an intro with cat doing something. Some nights the cat meets an untimely demise but tonight's epsiode had a zombie trying to attack the cat and the cat takes out a handgun trying to shoot the zombie but that doesn't stop the zombie.

Then a flame comes out of the cat's rear end that stops the zombie.

And they say that there's nothing of redeeming value on television these days.
