Planning on getting creative with 2lbs of ground beef and a couple boxes of Beef Stroganoff Hamburger Helper. I'm thinking of laying down a bed of the included pasta, slicing up some potatoes and pouring the hamburger mix over it and baking for about 45-minutes.

Mashed potatoes made with the skins, a few carrots thrown in for luck, salt and pepper, almost-boiling milk with a handful of dehydrated herbs (garlic, parsley, shallots, chives), and plenty of sweet butter.

The kids asked for something for carnivores to go with the potatoes, so I did some ground beef in a sauce made with a spoonful of veal stock powder and crumbled dried mushrooms with cream.

And whole smallish onions, peeled and fried in goosefat til browned.

            We all farted all night.

Tonight, I'm on strike. So dinner will be bought tomato soup with a splash of cream and fish-shaped crackers, plus there's a loaf of oatmeal bread in the machine and a jar of home-made pig liver paté to go with it.

Someone brought by an entire basket of Chantecler apples, with a few Golden Delicious thrown in. Since I am on strike, dessert will be plain GD ones...maybe tomorrow I'll do something nice with the Chantecler ones.

My 13-year old invited two of his friends for an overnighter at Hotel Watanabe. So the dinner menu tonight consists of three pizzas from Safeway at $11.99 each and four 2-liter bottles of Safeway soda at $0.78 per bottle.

Honestly, Helen...have you had a health checkup recently? I worry about what you diet is doing to your body.
