Re: So cool! Music makes the world go around.

Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow sang "Landslide" live on Oprah a couple of days ago. Stevie's voice is instantly recognizable, and Sheryl's harmonies were spot-on perfect. Even with some tricky timing changes in that song, she absolutely nailed it. You can tell after they finish that they know they had just made magic.

Here's another piece of magic, perfect for this Easter Sunday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLLMz...ature=youtu.be . It's Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill in a duet of "How Great Thous Art" taken from a TV special from a few days ago. I'm tempted to say that Carrie is the single best female singer on the planet today.

This one is a heads up for something you may want to record: tomorrow (Friday) night, the show Crossroads is featuring The Doobie Brothers and Luke Bryan.
From the promo I saw, it looks like the original Doobies, pre-Michael McDonald. But maybe he'll be on too and just wasn't on the promo. I dunno.
It's on at 7pm on CMT, channel 587 on Oceanic. And it airs again at 10:30.

Nope, no Michael. But the show was AWESOME. And Crossroads has the best sound engineers in the business, I swear. I recorded this on my DVR as a Do Not Delete mode.

I have enjoyed so much of this thread... some many times.

Cecilio & Kapono have always been my kind of music!
The 7 voyaging canoes departed today for Kauai, then onward to California.

Here's a familiar song with a different take. It's by a group called Cambodian Space Project (similar to Dengue Fever). They're covering the old Animals hit "House of the Rising Sun" in Cambodian at the beginning (studio track) and at the end, the video morphs into a live sing-a-long in English. It's been around for about a year, and here is the link:

So one day I was looking around for free stuff to download at Bandcamp.com, when I came across a band called Aloha Radio. The sound is a mix of Dick Dale and Blondie.

Anyway, here are links to some of their music:

"Big Wave Madness" - http://youtu.be/3dmeFxGPACk (static video)

                  "Deep Blue Ocean" - http://youtu.be/ccJbuHfrWpA
                  Audio link & free download - http://aloharadio.bandcamp.com/

                  "Spy Rider" - http://youtu.be/K-2LIe9rRng

                  Aloha Radio YouTube Channel

The title of their 7 song EP is "Big Wave Madness" at it's available at the Apple iTunes Store. I bought it. Listening to it a lot.

There's a fun music video at this link, especially if you like music... and if you like pets... and if you like beer.

I think that covers everyone here.

A lot of people may think Prince is just a singer with "character" and don't realize what a fantastic guitar player he is, so check out this link to see him with Tom Petty and other stars, especially the last half.

Tommy Emmanuel is a four-time winner of Australia's Best Guitarist award, best known for his complex fingerpicking style, energetic performances and the use of percussive effects on the guitar.
