Re: So cool! Music makes the world go around.

From Fleetwood Mac's album "The Dance," there's nothing as awesome as Lindsey Buckingham's acoustic solo "Big Love", especially the instrumental in the middle.
This video is a later performance, and he doesn't quite hit all the vocal high notes like he used to, but. Still awesome picking.

"The Dance" video concert is available on DVD and one that I enjoy watching over and over. Has more songs than the companion CD. Fleetwood Mac is the only major rock group I've seen in concert twice.
      I'm still here. Are you?

LikaNui brought my/our attention to the new Hawaiian band, Kapala - and I am grateful. Their premiere album, "Imprint," is astounding. Hawaiian classics (and several fine originals) dressed up in new clothes, by a top-quality ensemble of players. Wow!

If you go see 'em playing live again, LN, tell 'em they have a fan in Seattle who will be pushing their album on the radio a LOT (and tell Abe Lagrimas, Jr., to say hi to his brother, Eric, for me).

I just watched a show called Crossroads that I had on my DVR, taped off the CMT channel a week or so ago. Apparently it's a show where they merge two artists and they do each others songs. The episode I just watched (and saved to watch again!) first aired in 2008 and featured the unlikely pairing of... [drumroll]... Taylor Swift and Def Leppard. And it was AWESOME! There's lots of clips on YouTube at this link. I don't have time to watch them right now as I'm heading out the door for the usual Wednesday night music gig, but check 'em out.

Oprah did a similar concept for one of her holiday shows...odd couple duets, who had never sung together, singing Christmas songs. Tim McGraw and Alicia Keys, Sugarland and Jennifer Hudson and the pairing that blew me away...Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli. Loved all of 'em.

Hey, thanks for introducing me to something new, TATTRAT, I enjoyed that!

Here's a classic that came to mind recently:

                    Eddy Grant - Electric Avenue

I just spent some time listening to this thread again. Just Wow!
And I especially liked 'the rain' ensamble posted by Tattrat.

Here's an oldie but goodie and it shows how I'm feeling right now. In a positive way... You can't always get what you want

Those late to the movie missed out on the years of unlimited free streaming at Wolfie's, now it's limited to 10 hours a month to tease you to buy. But it's still a great site.
