I don't know where to start, but I don't have enough Mahalos to spread, thank you all sooooooooooooo much for your thoughts, concerns, prayers, and positive energy.

I just got in a little bit ago after being discharged from Fairfax hospital this afternoon. After being sick for 5 weeks(high fever, swollen joints, sever body pain, headache, so on and so on)and the ruling out of Flu, then a series of x-rays, I was admitted with the threat of tuberculosis. I was then cat scaned and the docs found, in addition to pneumonia in my lower right lung, "nodules" through out my lungs, "what is still being determined" in the top of both lungs, they found that the lymph nodes in my chest were ll jacked to shit. I have been put through the ringer, tested for everything from Rheumatic Fever, yellow fever, rocky mountain fever, scarlet fever, Lyme disease, parvo virus, hepatitis, AIDS/HIV, and lord knows what else, everything left the Dr's stumped. . .I guess that is why even after 2000 years it is still called a practice.

I had surgery yesterday. The removed the lymph nodes from the chest and performed biopsies on my lungs. Right now, they feel I might have lymphoma, or sarcoidosis. They have found "strange white cells" in addition to grandulomas(sp?). I have research to do on both, but I am at least out of the hospital while I await test results(again). Cancer is a concern, but if it is, it is. . .and I will get through it.

Thanks again for all the positive energy, all. It really means a lot. It has been tough going through this with no family/friends, and still getting used to being with out Carrie, this has been tougher than I had anticipated, but you all make me smile from ear to ear, and I know that I am not alone.

    Tatty...did you mean granulomas?

Have you had any one come in to check your apartment/house for molds and fungi?

Inhaling that crap can make you weirdly sick and molds and fungi LOVE Virginia's climate and wet ground, and they can cause granulomas.

    As above Jo Tatt.

Of course we are with you all the way. Let's stay positive. When you come to Sheffield/England, you will be on my soil. The choice of restaurants will be yours and the price will be on me.
In the meantime, let's concentrate on getting you better, that is the main concern of everybody here on this site.

As we HTers have expressed before, our best thoughts are with you. It seems you are now just days away from a diagnosis, and you will then have a starting point on how to tackle your health problem head on and overcome it! This is a time for staying positive, because you'll soon know what you are up against and can come up with the appropriate battle plan! That is good place to be, at the beginning of a treatment and recovery plan. Good luck & stay strong in spirit.
Now run along and play, but donít get into trouble.

Jon, I'm like the rest of this Ohana... saying prayers, sending white light, burning a candle, crossing my fingers, knocking on wood, and holding positive thoughts that all will be well for you soon. You are very important to us all, and we are here for you.

    much Aloha

I'm so sorry you have to go through this, especially without physical friends around. But as everyone has said, you have ALL of us, and quite the motley crew we are. I know that's not always the same, especially when you need a hand to hold or a hug, but we're all thinking of you. I wish so badly my parents still lived in Virginia, b/c I'd send my mom over to make you soup and she'd probably end up doing your dishes too.

So here's the best I can do for now. All my love and prayers, friend.

(If you can't see the picture, it's my mom bringing you soup on a tray)

Hey Tatt! ohmygosh you certainly are going through the ringer!

    I wish you....
    lots of relief from pain
good coughs and deep breaths (splint with a pillow, after the pain meds are on board!)
lotsa warm fluids to drink ( I second the hot soup idea from SG!)
    restorative SLEEP
And mostly, a quick and an accurate diagnosis!

Don't push yourself; the more you rest now, the quicker you will get better in the long run.

Tatt...how far are you from Springfield, VA? My sis and her hubby moved there a few months ago due to her hubby's transfer to D.C. with the Coast Guard. If there's anything you need, and if they are not too far, PM me and I can contact her and I'm sure they'd be able to help out. She's already started to do volunteer work and is learning her way around the area and has been playing tour guide to my aunt and uncle who are in their
70s and from San Diego this past week (can you say Oktoberfest????).

Did you break out in sausages?

WOW, that is almost too much for anyone to bear, esp. alone--but you're not completely alone; you've got us! That isn't the same as a physical person, I know, but it's great to have someone to reach out to when you need it. And don't hesitate to do just that. Remember, God is with you always, too. I have been praying for you and will continue to do so; I was thrilled to see your response on here. Much ALOHA to you...

    Aloha Ohana

Sorry for being so distant. So, I started pre-cancer treatment on Monday, I have "some type of lymphoma" as my docs say, as well as sarcoidosis. The cancer is cauht soon enough that the docs think drugs can whoop it. The sarcoid thing is a bit of a mystery. Modern medicine does not exactly understand where/what it is, they just know there is no cure and only treatment. It is however very treatable and manageable.

I will know in 8 weeks if they plan on taking a more aggressive approach to the cancer stuff, and if I start radiation.

What a bummer. . .serious. I though that when I came here, the reason I was so out of water was because, well, I WAS OUT OF WATER. Washington D.C, is the only place I have lived that is out of the salt air, and I thought it was ME reacting to a year now(hard to believe)of being away from my most natural element. Come to find out, doesn't matter if I were back in the 808, my born BMU, or anyplace, this was/is in me and would have got me either way, so sorry for my cursing D.C.

Many mahalos to you all, thank you so much for yor thoughts/concerns/support/all things positive. For real, thank you so much. Sooooo much, it realy means a lot. Sue, I might be out there for some r&r(mental and physical)I will kep you in the loop!

Much love, HT. Thanks do much for everything.
