Grrrr... got caught in the traffic mess today resulting from the truck & crane that hit the Gulick Ave overpass on H-1 (kokohead bound).

From the Star-Bulletin's breaking news online:

Freeway Lanes Reopened After Truck Damages Overpass

State transportation director Brennon Morioka said the truck was apparently carrying a crane and the boom was not fully retracted.

After the incident involving a U.S. Military rig that hit the Aiea Pedestrian Overpass in 2006, you'd think that CDL drivers would make sure their loads will clear all height restrictions (esp. freeway overpasses!) on the scheduled route!

The fortunate thing is that no one was seriously injured--thank goodness for that!

On top of holding the company liable for repairing any and all damages..... they should be fined BIGTIME by the state for the nuisance they have caused to everyone. Let it serve as a warning for every other company that transports heavy equipment
