    Mayumi has spilled the beans:

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/10/23/col...investigation/

Mayumi Heene told Larimer County investigators that she and her husband, Richard Heene, knew that their 6-year-old son Falcon was hiding at their Fort Collins home the entire time, even as police and military scrambled to search for the boy, according to the documents.

The wife better continue the campaign of bean spilling if she hopes to stay out of jail.

Wanda Sykes appeared on Oprah today and was asked to weigh in on some current events. When asked about Jon and Kate she said, "Put 'em in the balloon."!

I sensed something was up when Richard and Mayumi Heene sought legal representation from different lawyers.

But even with Mayumi's confession, no way should she get off scot-free for her part in the hoax. Let's not forget that the family member who really spilled the beans was little Falcon. Mayumi fessed up a couple of days after that fateful CNN interview and authorities seized the family's computer, hard drives, video camera, and other pieces of evidence. So it's not as if her confession was motivated by her conscience. She knew the jig was up.

Yeah, but I think 'the system' will be happy with it's hunk of meat from the dad and will let the rest go.

That guy deserved to be thrown under the balloon.

That may satisfy some people, but it would not be justice.

Richard Heene may very receive a more severe punishment due to his past criminal background. But there's no question Mayumi Heene played her part in the hoax. (Listen to her "frantic" pleas for help on the 911 recordings.) Even if she avoids a prison sentence, she (as well as her hubby) should still be liable to pay back restitution to the authorities for the costs associated with the rescue operation. And at the very least, she should also have to perform community service.

As I said, I would be more impressed with Mayumi's confession had it come before Falcon's "we did this for the show" comment. At this point, all she's doing is throwing her husband under the bus when already faced with commiting a hoax that is quickly unraveling.

Any judge that totally lets her off the hook on this one will get featured in my lenient judges thread.

Depends on how far the abused wife theory is taken:

    Wakey Uppey Time!

If it was a hoax, all you 'followers' are suckers buying into the scam.

    SUCKERS!

Like who cares? Obviously, those of you with nothing better to do with your time.

Well, it's your time, and I suppose you can spend it as you like.
Frankly, this seems to me to be a non-issue; either another crime or not (yawn), IMNSHO.

So why are you posting in the thread?

    1. Practicing your scolding methods?

    2. Proclaiming that you're now 'Holier than Thou'?

    3. Deflecting from having 'bought into the scam'?

    4. Just felt the need to rant at something?

    5. All of the above?

The Gentleman doth protest too much, methinks. Your vows voiced upon high over affirms your loftily pedestaled position and has an untoward effect...a lack of credibility.

    So like...dude...chill out.

Kaonohi...that can be said for the majority of threads on HT or any other forum web site. That can be said for many of the threads you happily participate in. HT, and the like, are available to people who have the time to discuss subjects of interest to them. The beauty of HT and the like? You don't have to read or participate in any thread that's of no interest to you. This thread obviously isn't. So why participate at all? Stick with the subjects that interest you and stop chastising those who are interested in this one. This subject is interesting to me. If that causes you to think less of me then...so be it.

I've enjoyed your posts in the past. My first thought when I read your posts in this thread is that, somehow, your account was highjacked.

We all have bought into sumthin-or-other at some point in our lives, be it privately or publicly on the internet. Kaonohi had a right to his opinion which he expressed in the post to which you linked, #39; an opinion for which he wasn't challenged or flamed. Turns out he was wrong. So what, huh?! We've all been wrong. Just not a big deal in this case...except Kaonohi turned it into one. I held him in higher esteem than that.

Doing stuff like that leads down the path of forum weaseldom. That's not a good thing either.

The Balloon Boy should change his name to Empty Balloon Boy.

    Question Interesting

I wasn't even on my computer yesterday, the 24th.

Yet the message has my commonly used 'IMNSHO' - and much of the language does sound like me. But much of it is language and phrases I would not use.

However, much of the post doesn't even make sense to me, and certainly does not reflect my views (which were expressed earlier in this thread). The message I'm allegedly answering is unfamiliar as well.

I do not have a clue how that message got there, nor even how it could.

I'm certain some of you may think I'm just trying to pull off a hoax of my own, but those of you who know me better will know better.

Kaonohi...the post in question seemed enough out of your character for me to add to my reply..."My first thought when I read your posts in this thread is that, somehow, your account was highjacked."

Seems like it's time for admin to investigate.

Default My apologies are in order

I found out how to go back and check my recent posts. I had posted another answer around the same time. Although I have no memory of that post either, it was in character, and I'm certain I wrote it. Consequently I must have written the other, as well.

I apologise to all for my earlier offensive post in this thread. It does not reflect how I feel, and even I was shocked when I saw it. I even contacted ADMIN to help me solve the problem.

I hope you can accept my apology and grant me your forgiveness.

I do have a memory impairment, but what was said in that post was inappropriate and I have no reasonable explanation.
