I was up at the Onizuka Astronomy Center at the 9000-ft level of Mauna Kea last night and the site director there said the shower should peak Tuesday night. The best part of the sky to look is straight up as the atmosphere is the thinnest there.

The Onizuka Astronomy Center will be stay open for the viewing. It get's dark around 6pm and they will stay open until Wednesday 6am. The night sky at the center is above the rain clouds so the view should be uninhibited. If you can make it to the Big Island this will be one of the best places in the world to see this meteor shower.

My family is going to head back up to Mauna Kea tomorrow night to witness this event, I gotta stay back to attend a Lions meeting.

Anyone catch a view of a falling star?

Windward Mauka was cloudy and rainy.

Tried to watch it all night last night, but it's been cloudy and pouring rain in Lihue for about 6 days now.

The skies were clear on Mauna Kea. My wife says it was verrrry cold and windy but clear skies from their viewing above the clouds.
