Two days ago I was taken to breakfast at the IHOP at Windward Mall. I just had a normal breakfast, with orange juice and coffee, but the bill for my meal was... $22.79!!!!!! For a regular little breakfast!
Just for comparison we went to Denny's yesterday and had the exact same meal for less than half the cost. And the food was at least as good if not better than IHOP's.
IHOP is permanently crossed off my list.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

$22.79 is a ridiculous price for a breakfast.

This morning I am being taken to a local café for coffee and a croissant by a friend. That, too, is ridiculously priced, at two and a half euros (haha, this is a French keyboard and there is no euro sign)....I don't mind being charged a bit more than a euro for a croissant, but the teensy tiny cup of coffee is exhorbitant.

What exactly is a normal regular little breakfast? Does that amount include tax and tip? I've been to the IHOP in Waikiki with a friend several times, both of us have ordered a full breakfast (meaning not continental or a la carte), both had coffee or tea, neither had orange juice. I know our total tab, for 2, never exceeded $25. including tax and tip.

Fried rice, i.e. leftovers in a pan. (rice, eggs, broccoli, portagee sausage, green onions...what else was there? little of everything)

Little yellow Mirabelle plums from the tree in the garden. Followed by freshly pulled up carrots. And handfuls of red raspberries.
