Re: Road runner only service get cable stations?

    VDSL2 provides 50Mbps at 3300ft and 24Mbps at 5200ft

also both VDSL2 and ADSL2+ can be bonded, so basically combining 2pairs to double the bandwidth.

So it's acheivable to get 20-30Mbps even at 10,000ft from CO/RT on copper.

There is lots of fiber out there to RT's already which makes it one step closer to FTTP

Of course FTTP is the ultimate answer

How in the heck can you say that someone can get 50Mbps and lives 10,000 wire line feet away. The numbers done lie, 5,200 and 3,300 feet for the higher grade speeds. Even if the lines are bonded (which will cost additional fees for one more landline), you will be still hamstrung by the limited availability past 5,200 feet.

I never said you can get 50 at 10,000 ft.

What numbers don't lie? i'm talking about variations of xDSL that aren't even being used by consumers in Hawaii yet.

Bonding doesn't cost the customer any more. it's a business decision if they want to implement. majority of houses already have more than 2 pairs anyway. it's the equipment at the RT that's the expense.

sorry to rattle your belief system in what you think copper is capable of. I work in the field.

This will be my last post about it. call me names, call me crazy.. sorry to bother. nothing to see here. forget everything i said.

And to think I go ga ga over 520Kbs on my supposed broadband wireless connection. You guys are just spoiled.
Life is what you make of it...so please read the instructions carefully.

Yes you did, with this statement previously :

I was referring to previous comment. The higher speeds are only available if you live up to 5,200 wire feet from the CO/RT.
In other words, copper loops are not an efficient means to provide broadband connectivity.

If you work in the field you wouldn't be making comments that 20-30Mbps DSL service is possible at 10,000 feet from the CO/RT.

              i'm talking loop feet..

              I've sync'ed 34Mbps at 5000' on ADSL2+ bonded and that was 2yrs ago

Ok, that is more realistically possible. I didn't buy the previous comment you made that these speeds could be provided at 10,000 wire line feet is all I'm saying. The numbers simply don't add up. (I'm meaning loop length when I mention wire line length, ).

"So it's acheivable to get 20-30Mbps even at 10,000ft from CO/RT on copper."

That distance limitation will limit the availability of these higher grade speeds. For example, I live 3,750 wire line feet from the CO servicing my area. Thus I can get 11Mbps DSL. However, there is a significant amount of my neighbors who won't have this luxury.
