Her poor family! There's never a good time to lose a loved one, but it seems especially tough at this time of year. I enjoyed her in Clueless, Girl Interrupted, 8 Mile, and as the voice of LuAnn on King of the Hill.

She was only 32. So sad. Hopefully, she's at peace now.
      Peace, Love, and BBQ!

It is quite sad and read these events from less than two weeks ago:

One fairly recent work not mentioned in the news media is Brittany Murphy's lead roll as an aspiring gaijin ramen chef in the film The Ramen Girl, which was released in Germany in 2008, and just released only on DVD in 2009 in the US.

Think Tampopo meets Karate Kid and that's kinda' how The Ramen Girl plays out. Very enjoyable "chick flick". I absolutely adored her character as 'Abby' and her abrasive relationship with sensei and master chef Maezumi, played by Toshiyuki Nishida.

You can currently watch The Ramen Girl on-demand (watch it now) online if you're on NetFlix. Highly recommended.

I'm shocked and saddened by her death. R.I.P. Brittany. Have a bowl of Ramen up in heaven for us.

            I am SHOCKED....

Saw a blurb mentioned on Yahoo and I was like am I reading this correctly?!?

Too young and quite talented actress IMO....
When I first saw Ms. Murphy was the 1995 movie Clueless that I saw at Resturaunt Row 9 (btw, is that place still there?)

Brittany also posessed a kick ass voice!

See: "Boogie Wonderland" - from the soundtrack Happy Feet and Paul Oakenfold's "Faster Kill Pussycat"

Looks like I am goin to be adding sum of her flicks onto my Netflix Queue

Thanks for the memories Brit, you will be missed.

RIP Brittany - i only ever saw you in 8-mile.

What a tragedy to have a heart attack at such a young age.

Death the destroyer levels us all; see you on the other side, sister.

                Gone too soon.

I have to wonder though. Has she been ill for a long time?

This report indicates Brittany was sick a few days before she died. I wonder if MRSA played a part. I personally know 2 people who had "flu like symptoms" a few days before they died from MRSA. One was in her mid 30s; the other, mid-50s. Neither had any outward wounds where MRSA might've entered. Just thinking out loud...

She became rail thin after Clueless that I didn't know she was in that movie. She wasn't Karen Carpenter skin and bones thin, but that can't be healthy.
Wasn't there a SNL skit with one of the cast member doing an impression of her?

Two weeks ago, iirc. I read today that the skit has been pulled from hulu.

On Inside Edition right now, there's going to be a report on the SNL skit.

Has NBC or Hulu said anything publicly about the decision to pull the skit? Apparently there was a mild uproar on the blogosphere immediately after her death, calling for the clip to be pulled. But I think it was a knee-jerk reaction, and that pulling it actually suggests worse judgement than airing or preserving the skit. And it's not even a very funny skit.

Here's one write up. Here's a transcript of the skit with more commentary, and the (temporarily, no doubt) video.
