  • RIP Nadao Yoshinaga

A statement from Senator Inouye's office expresses condolences at the death of former Maui territorial and state Senator Nadao Yoshinaga - ackowledged to be the father of the state's employer-paid/provided health care legislation. I'm not seeing the death reported in the media - but Inouye must know.

      Sad news, indeed.
Less than a month ago, an article in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin mentioned:

Yoshinaga's daughter, Susan, says her father, who celebrated his 90th birthday in August, is "doing quite well."

"He keeps a full schedule, exercises daily and goes to the Capitol. He will always be very interested in politics," she said.

Too bad we don't have more good men/women in D.C. like "Najo".
If we did, we might have a Health Care Reform package on the table that benefits "Joe Average"...
rather than the current offering that favors "Big Insurance".

You worked hard and well, Sen. Yoshinaga.
      Godspeed, and rest in peace.
To be, or musubi... What was da question?
