  • Hawaiian Air Posts $35M Profit

So why do they need to raise rates? Like I said before, when Aloha went belly up and Go is going bancrupt, it seems the only true winner was Hawaiian Airlines. So one has to wonder what role HAL played in the downfall of Aloha! Remember in the day's of Hawaiian vs Aloha, both were cut throat competitors wanting each other to disappear.

Hawaiian Airlines...please give us a break on airfare! We supported you, now it's time to support us.
Life is what you make of it...so please read the instructions carefully.

Oh that was just for the fourth quarter!!! For 2009 they posted a $116.7M profit.

That's $116,700,000.00 I'm sure there was some pocket change where the zeros are.

Their operating revenue for 2009 was $1.18 BILLION. My God, if I was the CEO I'd be saying, "WHAT FRIGGIN RECESSION!"

Give us a break Hawaiian Airlines!! Lower your airfares so Kamaaina can go visit family on the neighbor islands without going broke!

It must have been the luggage fees.

Perhaps the lower fuel costs helped. Things can turn on a dime, so it may be premature to start celebrating.

Flew R/T to the mainland for under $300 just a couple weeks ago via the HA website, so there are deals to be found!

Did Hawaiian Airlines have an incident like what happened to Silent Bob?

Unless your family is on Molokai, in which case you're pretty much screwed.

Big effin' whoop to Hawaiian Air. But until you start flying to and from Molokai, I don't give a gecko's arse.

Higher fares, baggage fees, they all add up.

Oh, they also increased the miles you need to redeem for "free" flights. One-way used to be 5000 miles, now it's 10,000, unless you go with the really early ones for 7500 miles!

1yr is very short term. they had tiny profits in 2008, 2007, and big losses in 2006, 2005.

You can't really run your business based on "I guess we should lower our prices this year since we made a lot of money last year"

                    What's too much profit? (Exxon?)

You never know what could deeply effect profits a month from now.
