The "Pets' Discount, Pets' Discount" commercial tune is stuck in my head somewhere.

It'll suck if Tanabe's is pau, they have a good selection of tasty old style local foods that are hard to find now. Been going there for decades.

Bummer. I used to love going in there, as they not only had supplies but also had live pets and actually allowed you to hold the pets and get some love.
Wow, I was just at the dentist a week ago or so and I swear it was open then.
Must have closed due to Petco coming in next to Walgreen's.

Kailua Don Quijote closes at the end of the day Sat Feb 5 to make way for Target. Shelves looking bare - but DQ has other stores on O`ahu to which remaining merchandise can be shifted, so I guess no 'going out of biz' sales.

In the same business section, a biz brief reports that Becker Communications has received an `Ilima Award for the best public relations campaign for their work on Pablo's grand opening. Oh, well . . . time to look fror a new client.

Are the post offices considered as disappearing businesses?

I guess so. Our HT buddy Burl Burlingame has a big story about bookstores in today's Star-Advertiser, and in that article is this:

"Another casualty is Rainbow Books & Records on University Avenue. Owner Tom Farely said his store will shut down Sept. 25 after 25 years in business.
"It's a bad time for books in general," he said."
                        .
                        .

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Bookshelves used bookstore in Stadium Mall is closing.
                          Borders, Windward Mall is closing.
I heard a rumor the Kailua used book store (book nook?) is also set to close.

                          Now where do I go?
