  • RIP Aunty Dottie Thompson

    http://www.kitv.com/news/22895726/detail.html

Aunty Dottie and her daughter Luana looked after me so well at last year's Merrie Monarch. It won't be the same this year without her and Uncle George Naope. Sending all my aloha to her ohana.

I remember Auntie Dottie from her days with the County Parks and Recreation Department handling the Summer Fun program. That was from over FIFTY years ago.

She also a top women's amateur golfer who won many Big Island women's tournaments.

Ray Fonseca has also passed. This will be a very sombre Merry Monarch.

Especially since Uncle George Naope also passed just a few months ago, so both of the founders of Merrie Monarch are gone, just a few months apart.
The Advertiser website has the story about Rae Fonseca passing right after a performancef in Ko Olina yesterday; nothing on the Star-Bulletin site yet.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
