  • Configuring Hawaiiantel e-mail on a Barnes & Noble Nook

Anyone have trouble doing it? I've been trying all kinds of settings to no avail. HT tech support wasn't much help, as they are unfamiliar with the device.

I never tried configuring a Nook before and dealing with Hawaiiantel email servers has been a long time ago.

I guess the question that needs to be ask is have you configured email clients before?

And specifically with the Hawaiiantel email servers in mind?

Would you know various email protocol terms like SMTP, IMAP or POP3?

installed the Touchdown app, entered user name, pw, chose POP3 (mail.hawaiiantel.net), no security settings. always says error verifying.

          Possible cause #1:
Bear in mind that for hawaiiantel email servers you need to have @hawaiiantel.net with the username when you try to login to their email servers.

          Possible cause #2:
How does the Nook communicate with the outside world (as it what does it do to connect to the next device)? Is it just WiFi? Or do you have 3G service as well?

If you just have WiFi can your Nook access a web site via its browser?
