  • Rich Miano - Gone

According to Stephen Tsai, Rich Miano received a release from his contract with UH. He won't be a part of Norm Chow's staff. Overall, I thought that Miano brought a lot to the team and to the community. He did a lot with the Speed and Quickness camps and other community outreach programs. While not irreplaceable, he will be missed.

One coach who will not be on his staff is Rich Miano, who served as interim head coach after Greg McMackin reached a release agreement with UH. Miano is a former UH coach who played 11 seasons in the NFL and coached 13 years at UH. The Warriors’ 2011 coaching staff is on contract through March 31, 2012.

I hope the Miano family were able to enjoy Christmas dispite this lousy news. Good luck, Rich!

Three more members of McMackin's staff are in the same boat as Miano. Defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, OL coach Gordy Shaw, and RB coach Brian Smith will not be part of Norm Chow's coaching staff next season.
