  • Aloha shirts for men - Tori Richards or Reyn Spooner?

I need to pick up a few Aloha Shirts on-line. It's been 15+ years since I been in their stores (live on the mainland now).

Are their standards-quality still the same?

Which would you prefer and why?

Also, I know I wear a Large size. Just checking if their Large is the large in Hawaii (which is like Asian size), or more like Mainland Large, which in my case, would be like a Medium. Their website don't give you the actual measurements.

I personally prefer Tori Richards because there is a better variety of materials to choose from, and also a lot more designs and color. I don't believe you are correct in saying that a Hawaii size large is more suited to the Asian size. A lot of the local shirts are cut a little larger than the mainland manufactured shirts.

There is also available online Sig Zane, who enjoys a great reputation. Check out the clearance items for discounts:

You might be surprised as I was to see the plethora of Hawaiian shirts donated to Goodwill. I have amassed quite a collection for my young son from two our local stores here in Oklahoma at 2-4.99 apiece. Just for the grins of it, I ventured into Wahiawa's GW store to price Hawaii's Hawaiian shirts and found them for 8.99.
          Just my opinion.
If anyone on Oahu is NOT happy , feel free to trade places with me.

I prefer Reyn Spooner; I have several. I find their sizes are consistent with mainland sizes.

One of my favorite shirts is an old Don Loper.
The weather in these misty northwest mountaintops has
been unsuitable for that sort of shirt for the last year.
This year spring seems warmer, and hopefully,
Aloha shirts will soon brighten the streets again up
here in the remote wastes of seattle.

70's/80's Tori Richards made out of polished cotton are my favorites

Even better if you can find them in long sleeves.

Seen them on Hawaii Five-O (original). That would be totally retro.

part of me wishes that I was born 20 years earlier. I'd sooooo wanna wear long-sleeved aloha shirts and angel flights.
