Ahh Gravities Rainbow.
Next on my must reread list!
The Corvairs (as distinguished from
Corvettes) are very collectible. However, Ralph Nader emerged on the scene to complain
about the vehicles tendancy to flip over while going too fast while cornering.
My stepfather worked on the Corvette prototypes.
One day he crashed in a vette with fibreglass body on the experimental track.
He barely survived .
The matter was silenced with a well fattened envelope.
Hah, that brings me back to my dad trying to use his ding repair kit to patch up rust holes in an old Suzuki Samurai (which was also recalled for flipping, IIRC). I'm sure the fiberglass and resin made it a much safer vehicle! What a Maui Cruiser.
I used to have "Take your rod out and play with it" on the back of a formally owned truck. I bought it at a rod and custom car show so I assume it meant hot rod but I would see some real nasty head shaking from women in my rear view mirror, lol!
If anyone on Oahu is NOT happy , feel free to trade places with me.
A long time ago I was driving from Spokane to Seattle from a political convention.
The road was long and the rearview mirror's view was sharp and clear.
Way back I see a pickup truck driving like a dingbat.
Sure enough the truck blazed past me and other terrified drivers.
On the dust of her trucks tailgate someone had written "I'm a ### "
They were correct.
