The third spelling is simply inaccurate, ...
Inaccurate to what? The third spelling more accurately represents the second of the two pronunciations you give, which has a reduced vowel in the second syllable "kuh". So far as I know, unless it's pronounced "you"/"yuh", an unstressed vowel spelled "u" in English can't be reduced to "uh". That is, English speakers would expect a spelling "ukulele" to be pronounced "you-kyuh-lay-lee", according to ordinary spelling conventions, like such words as "accurate", "annual".

So accuracy of spelling is dependent upon pronunciation?

I didn't know what you meant, so that's why I asked you "Inaccuracy to what?" Comparing to another recently discussed word, if by accuracy you meant "like the spelling in the original language", then "restaurant" would be more accurate than "restorant", because the word is spelled with "au" in French.

At any rate, I think it is clear why so many people spell it "ukelele".

Oh, yes, that's true. Misspelling words based on pronunciation is common.

The automatic call backs after you left a voice message and hanged up. It's not the person screening calls and calling back. So, I just the let phone ring.

No, I'm not trying to "call out" anyone. But I do have a pet peeve that sometimes rolls around on forums, including HT:

When a new thread is started on HT, and the initial posting is not much more than a link to an internet article. I don't usually even bother to go to the link, unless I have a some idea of what the topic is about so I can judge if it is of interest to me.

Please, nobody get their panties in a bunch now!

Another pet peeve: continuous cantankerous attitudes. Thankfully, HT has a great "ignore" feature, where Member #A can easily block #B from view. Result: Peace in the valley!

Does that mean it takes a particularly strong survival skill-set to be a regular participant ... or just a total fool to even enter? (Perhaps both.)

                              My pet peeve is .....

someone who can be so idiotic!!!.

I placed a gift card inside a pocket, & he looses it!!..

I placed it inside his pocket & told him don't loose it, & he even saw it, & said "oh ok.", next thing I know it is completely gone!! GAWD!!.

Yes, I should have kept it instead, BUT, I just felt as though, I would loose it myself, & didn't want it getting lost, it turns out, it did get lost, any way!!. :-( SIGH!!.
