The other part of the US is killing themselves buying tickets and has it up to 550+ million just since Thanksgiving when it was 325.
What would you do if Hawaii had lottery and what would you do if you won?
Why don't they have it?

If anyone on Oahu is NOT happy , feel free to trade places with me.
They say it'll lead to organized crime in Hawaii if we let the lottery or gambling in. I guess this state is too incompetent to manage anything.
If I won the lottery I'd be an uber socialist lib and give most away while building a crazy bitchin pad in Kaaawa with a mini amphitheater for the best jams ever. And a walled moat with fully manned guard towers.
I think people should be allowed to do whatever they want with their money, so while I detest gambling, I think it should be legal. And yeah: if I lived in a lottery state, I'd buy a ticket once in a while. If they're going to give away millions of dollars, they might as well give it to me.
But I'm disturbed! I'm depressed! I'm inadequate! I GOT IT ALL! (George Costanza)

I currently have friends in sensible states buying lottery tickets; I pay, they buy, we share.
Heck, SOMEbody has to win!

So, apparently it has been won somewhere.
I live in Jokelahoma for whom it took forever to get lottery and tattooing (because of the "bible belt" whatever that means) and I notice that every damn time one of these massive bastards are won (2-3) this year over 200 mil, it is always in states like Michigan, Ohio, Conn., etc. It's like some kind of set up.

We have lotteries in Hawaii, under the branding of 'insurance'. It's even better than those 'gambling' lotteries because you can game the system (cheat) to ensure an occasional win. In many cases, it's mandatory to play even though, by the very rules of the game, most players must lose, as in typical lotteries.

May I always be found beneath your contempt.
Surely you aren't speaking of vehicle insurance![]()

Indeed, I think he is. AND, it is a lottery, of sorts, if you think about it, but:
The ticket price is higher,
The payout is less (more distributed),
The participants lose more than the operators win.
My take is that we form a REAL Hawaiian lottery.
Get tourists to pay a LOT into the system, our kama`aina will certainly put in their share. We get paid back when a kama`aina wins. (statistics!)
We all win!
Who is against it???????
