Is peeing and crapping in the streets a problem for them? How is that not coping with reality? Maybe it's more a problem for you ... If you had been shut away on the say-so of a doctor and force-fed tranquillizers for a decade or so, before the Reagan reforms, you might have a different slant on things.

All this rampant killing craziness is no suprise at all, it was clearly seen coming one day from decades ago when I was still a teen. After Manson the game was up.

Yep that's right, we can thank Reagan "reforms" for a generation of mentally ill people living on the streets. Thanks, Ronnie. He sure fixed that problem!

But this argument is only an attempt to divert the attention away from the problem of a nation that is fundamentally flawed with an unhealthy fascination and paranoia toward guns. Somehow, the fact that hundreds of children are killed each year through gun violence is not worth addressing. Disgusting! We need a "Reagan reform" like taking their guns away.

        STRICT gun control NOW!

No, it isn't when we have a nation that is dominated by a paranoid gun nut minority.

Looking back over history there are many mass movements that come and go. This wasn't always a gun crazed society. Maybe it will get over it and move on to something else. Future generations will read about this gun crazed society and find it as curious and amusing as we find the end of the world movements of the 19th century.

Please remember that this is just one person's opinion, unsupported by statistics, and driven by an obsession backed by compulsive behavior.

Matapule could do a much better job of getting his ideas accepted if he acted in a rational, non-compulsive manner. We cannot believe him because we cannot tell if his assumptions are aligned with fact; more likely they are driven by obsession.

Statistics show that gun supporters are a majority, and that they support, and are supported by, our legislature. Perhaps there is a gun-nut minority, but they dominate nothing; even the NRA doesn't want them.

For all you gun nuts out there, here is your opportunity to immigrate to an area where paranoia runs rampant along with all the survivalists, Baggers, and sundry other yahoos. Theoretically, according to the gun nuts, their gun violence rate will go down to zero. Only time will tell.

KENNESAW, Ga - Several Kennesaw officials attribute a drop in crime in the city over the past two decades to a law that requires residents to have a gun in the house.

In 1982, the Kennesaw City Council unanimously passed a law requiring heads of households to own at least one firearm with ammunition.

The ordinance states the gun law is needed to "protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants."

Then-councilman J.O. Stephenson said after the ordinance was passed, everyone "went crazy."

"People all over the country said there would be shootings in the street and violence in homes," he said. "Of course, that wasn't the case."

In fact, according to Stephenson, it caused the crime rate in the city to plunge.

Kennesaw Historical Society president Robert Jones said following the law's passage, the crime rate dropped 89 percent in the city, compared to the modest 10 percent drop statewide.

Jesus said two things about bearing arms - each contradicting the other.

He told his disciples that if they 'didn't have a sword they should sell their cloak and buy one.'

Then when they drew swords to protect him he said to 'put away your sword!'

                      Not exactly decisive!

I guess his message to modern times is to have guns but don't use them.

There was discussion here earlier of why sometimes men go wild and start killing strangers. I ran across an interesting suggestion in a discussion of "amok":
A widely accepted explanation links amok with male honor (amok by women is virtually unknown).[11] Running amok would thus be both a way of escaping the world (since perpetrators were normally killed) and re-establishing one's reputation as a man to be feared and respected. Some observers[who?] have related this explanation to Islam's ban on suicide, which, it is suggested, drove Malay men to create circumstances in which others would kill them.

                            Shot for refusing sex

A court in Texas just exonerated a man who shot and killed a woman who had refused to have sex with him. She's dead, and he will serve no time at all.

Here’s what happened: Ezekiel Gilbert shot and killed a Craigslist escort after she left without having sex with him. His lawyer argued that since he had paid her $150 for the evening, he was justified under Texas law in shooting her because state law allows people “to use deadly force to recover property during a nighttime theft."
